Governments

At the IDB Group, the 26 Latin American and Caribbean client countries have over half the voting power on the Board. Public entities that borrow from the Bank include national, provincial, state and municipal governments, and autonomous public institutions. Clients can view project information, see portfolio and financial data, and access knowledge resources.

Financial Products: The IDB offers several distinct financial alternatives to satisfy the individual needs of each member country. See, also, the Interest ratesLoans Charges and Statement of Approved Loans by the Bank

Financial Instruments: The IDB funds public investment projects and private investment projects that promote social development in their member countries. The funding can be done through loans, grants, guarantees and investments, and national and regional technical cooperation programs.

IDB Extranet: A secure website where Borrowers and Executing Agencies can access their IDB financial reports.

IDB Board Meetings: The Board of Executive Directors is responsible for day-to-day oversight of the Bank’s operations. The agendas and minutes of Board meetings are public documents, as is the Board's annual work program with its quarterly updates.

Integrity Portal: The Bank’s commitment to integrity begins within the institution itself and extends to its projects in the region, the agencies that implement those projects and the organizations that provide goods and services for them.

The Bank's list of Sanctioned Firms and Individuals, includes those parties that were found to have engaged in a fraudulent or corrupt practice in violation of the Bank's anti-corruption policies. These firms and individuals may not be eligible for Bank financing as specified in the list. Please check the list periodically for any changes or updates.

Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors: Each year in the Spring, the Boards of Governors of the IDB and the IIC meet in one of the Bank's member countries.

IDB Annual Reports: Annual reports highlight the IDB’s activities and operations each year and provide an economic overview of the Latin American and Caribbean region, as well as the Bank’s financial statements and institutional aspects.

Statement of Approved Loans: The Statement of Approved Loans presents all relevant financial information, including outstanding amounts, for all public sector loans in the active portfolio and historical loans made by the Bank dating to 1961.
 

Debt Service Projections: Contains summary reports that show estimated future loan repayments for a country or group of countries, as well as similar reports by loan, based on quarterly month-end data.

Annual Report on Development Effectiveness Overview: Shows the corporate and operational results of the Bank’s activities, year by year, including a review of projects on the ground and information on how the Bank supports poverty reduction and social equity.
 

Statistics and Tools: Over 1,000 economic, social, governance and trade indicators provide comprehensive data on living conditions and socioeconomic progress in the region.

IDB Policies: Includes general operational policies, sector-specific policies, as well as links to IDB strategies, mandates and best practices.
 

Regional Policy Dialogue: A space where borrowing member countries can exchange experiences and help each other prepare to face the challenges of globalization and generate processes for regional cooperation.
