How do I apply?

In order to participate to the YPP program, interested candidates must fully complete the application process and submit it (in the course of the month of May for the 2013 edition). Please click the "Find your passion" icon on the top right of your screen. 
 

Once I have applied what happens?

The Human Resources Department (HRD) reviews the applications, ensuring that all eligibility requirements are met. The strongest candidates with experience in the Bank's priority areas/sectors are contacted for personal interviews in Washington DC. The goal of the interview is to identify the following characteristics:

• Flexibility and capacity to work in different areas of the organization;
• Strong analytical skills as evidenced by academic success and other personal achievements;
• Interpersonal, team and communication skills that are indispensible for working in a multicultural setting; and,
• A desire and readiness to serve in field assignments (in IDB country offices in Latin America and the Caribbean)

The final selection of candidates is made by a senior level selection panel, usually around August or September. Usually around ten Young Professionals enter the Bank and start their first assignment in January next year.
