The Ricky Martin Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advocate for the well-being of children around the globe in critical areas such as social justice, education and health. The Foundation defends children’s rights, fulfilling a key role in catalyzing change with respect to the trafficking of children, among other issues. In 2004, the Foundation launched People for Children, a worldwide initiative that condemns child exploitation. This project seeks to educate the public and denounce and reduce human trafficking, with special emphasis on child trafficking. The Foundation, together with international entities, carries out awareness-raising campaigns like “Call and Live” and lobbies for public policy to eradicate this scourge.

In 2005 Juanes established the Mi Sangre Foundation to help victims of anti-personnel mines and develop early childhood development program in his native Medellin, Colombia. The Foundation´s vision is to be recognized for its contribution to peace and the improvement of the life quality of early childhood in Colombia. In 2008 the Foundation led "peace without frontiers", a social moviliziation initiative that seeks the right to peace to be included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
